Book Club: My Grandmother’s Hands

“My Grandmother’s Hands will change the direction of the movement for racial justice.”— Robin DiAngelo, New York Times bestselling author of White Fragility

Prison Yoga Project: My Grandmother’s Hands book club allows participants to further reflect on the words of author Resmaa Menakem through the lens of yoga and incarceration. This is an opportunity for yoga teachers to do the personal, inner healing work necessary to hold space for yoga in a prison or jail.

This training is split into three parts to match the contents of the book:

  • Part I: Unarmed and Dismembered
  • Part II: Remembering Ourselves
  • Part III: Mending our Collective Body

Each lesson includes a summary of major themes in a section of Chapters, plus the added perspective of Prison Yoga Project. In addition, there are attached resources as well as question prompts that allow participants to reflect on the reading with others in the group.

We are hosting three live meet-ups to discuss each part of the book. See below to register for the upcoming events.
