Thank you for choosing to support Prison Yoga Project. We recognize that every person who steps into this work brings their own lived experiences, identities, and personal journeys. Your presence and intention are valued.
As a volunteer representing PYP in any capacity, you play an important part in sharing our mission and engaging others with care. While your role may not involve facilitating yoga classes inside prisons or jails, your presence and voice still play an essential part in representing our work.
This training provides the foundation you need to speak about PYP with clarity, confidence, and compassion. Topics in this training:
- The realities of incarceration in the United States
- How inequity and trauma shape the lives of people inside
- What trauma-informed yoga is and why it matters
- How yoga supports healing, rehabilitation, and transformation
- How to represent PYP ethically, accurately, and in alignment with our values
