Hi everyone!

Here is the link to register for the trauma-informed language workshop I mentioned briefly in our session last week. It is sliding scale/donation based but no one is turned away for lack of funds, you can email Sofia via the contact on her website if you need. Just wanted to share because it sounds SO cool. Maybe see you there?

Pasted description from the registration form:

Harm Reduction: a workshop for people who speak movement
Friday, April 4th at 6-8pm Eastern Time
on Zoom or via Recording

Sliding Scale for Workshop: $45-125

Asynchronous participation welcome. Recording will be available for a month after live event.
No refunds. No one turned away for lack of funds.

Workshop Description:
This workshop is about cueing movement. We will be examining the things we say as facilitators and unpacking their intended and unintended effects. This workshop is designed to provide tools for you to question your own training and pedagogical habits in order to expand the potential of your practice to be affirming for your clientele. We will explore strategies of positive cueing, scaffolding and sequencing, cross-referencing connotations of language inside and outside of the studio, centering the 'why', and more.

This workshop is designed for people who teach or facilitate movement (ex. Pilates, yoga, dance, dance movement therapy, fitness, or other somatic forms). However, anyone interested in movement, language, and facilitation is welcome.
