Hello everyone!

I popped into the last live meeting for an insta-second. Unfortunately I have clients most Thursdays. My name is Megan and I'm an LCSW in New Jersey currently trying to get reciprocity in NY. I live in Bloomfield, NJ and was working in Mental Health in Corrections for about 2 years. I have done yoga for many years on and off and this program really resonates with me. I kept finding myself in my own yoga classes thinking what can I bring from here into my mental health practice with my inmates. I am currently a Clinical Director at a private practice which turns out is not a very ethical practice so under advisement by the ethics board I am currently looking for other employment. Regardless of whether I return to corrections or pursue other mental health in the interim, I eventually want to set up a prison yoga project in NJ. If anyone is local and wants to meet up later on to review sequencing, etc. don't hesitate to reach out. I will be popping on again in about 45 minutes for our live sessions, but again will have to sign off early to see clients. Hope everyone is well!

Hello! I'm Adrienne Reyes born and raised in Los Angeles. I am a single mom of 3 high schoolers (which includes identical twin girls). I'm a girl mom and good at it too! Hehe. I was laid off from my corporate job of 21 years in October and it has given me the opportunity to really assess what am I doing, and asking questions like do I feel fulfilled, am I following my purpose, am I happy? But I didn't keep all my eggs in one basket. In addition to mom life and the corporate gig, I have several business ventures I am going full force into - my home baking business maskipops by adri, my pranic healing business Sacred House LA LLC, and lastly my 501(c)(3) Life Force Kitchen which began as providing prana-infused food for the homeless and grew into support for ALL communities around LA during these wildfires. In addition, I started a partnership for a community-centric group called the Valley Spiritual Plug to uplift other fellow women of color owned small businesses and to hold space for community and group healing. The intention for joining this cohort was for my own practice/movement/well-being and also to extend yoga to other communities. I know this is only week 2 but I am absolutely blown away with the program, with Jen's guidance and knowledge, with my fellow cohort and all you have to say. I know I am right where I need to be. So grateful and honored to be here and looking forward to this program.

Hi Everyone! I am Tara Louise Getty. I live in Sacramento, CA. I am currently the Director of a small non-profit whose initiative is to spread dignity and hope in homeless encampments. We feed, shower and encourage unhoused humans towards stable housing. I am also a certified yoga teacher, a certified children's yoga teacher (trauma informed), fitness instructor and holistic nutritionist. I am blessed to dedicate my work to marginalized communities. Teaching yoga has been a key for me to access the people who need yoga the most. The PYP training is literally a dream come true! It has been on my heart to go deeper into trauma informed practices for so long. It just never felt accessible. I am excited to get to know you all and to grow in our understanding of this work together.
