'If your experiences so far with your yoga practice are similar to mine, you may feel as though you’ve been through a bit of an emotional roller-coaster (personally, I think mind-eff is more appropriate) and you might actually feel more disconnected at times rather than the mind/body/spirit union this practice promotes'. I love the realness of this and it's so true. The trick I find is trusting the process and honouring the genuine trust in self-development. The only limitations I have are the ones I impose on myself. When I stop doing that, my potential is unlimited, like yours.
'As we become more connected to self, as our personal knowledge grows, the need for new knowledge builds'. I am finding that this course is like a new legal wonder drug for the soul. It reminds me that being alive is like being high, without judgements, skewed perceptions, and fear. I am so grateful for this. Edit: maybe the high feeling is the feeling of Oneness?
This quote is the most beautifully written paragraph so far. Well done to the author for inspiring me so much, at 4:26am 36 hours into a 72 hour fast:
'Honour curiosity. Listen. As you sense emotions, both positive and negative, about events, policies, politics, and relationships, take time to educate yourself. Learn each side of subjects that stir you. Gather evidence. Gather facts. Ask questions. Listen and learn more. Take the time to learn what you need to more deeply connect with who you are. Pass these lessons on to future participants'.
🤩
I felt connected with this too, especially in the beginning when I was learning to sit with the discomfort and being sad mad. I was just talking to one of my incarcerated friends and telling him that now because I know the “secret sauce” thoughts that once were upsetting don’t stir up anything now. It’s wonderful but, looking back it’s interesting to know that I am never going to feel that way again about that subject and only have a memory of the feeling and no longer having the feeling. It’s strange but, a relief. Maybe bittersweet.
Bruce Lee said “ The great mistake is to anticipate the outcome of the engagement; you ought not to be thinking of we there it ends in victory or defeat. Let nature take its course, and your tools will strike at the right moment.” This is a quote from his Tao of Jeet Kure Do book. Our tools 🙂
