Hi everyone. I’m John McDonough and this is my 4th PYP teacher training. I participated in the spring 2017 training in Hartford CT. Out of 40 participants, 8 were from Massachusetts and we decided there to form a chapter. Currently, we have about 25 (in)active trainers in about 15 state, county, and youth services facilities. I’m co-chair, and we work to: 1. get into as many facilities as we can; 2. build teams of trainers in each facility; 3. use the network to support and encourage and mentor each other. I teach weekly at the Suffolk County House of Corrections in Boston. Currently, we’re all on ice because of the pandemic, with no idea when we can go back in.

James and Bill and Nicole have let me participate in their yearly training sessions in Boston and I was interested in participating in this online version. I’ll bring news and reports of this back to the MA chapter.

My passion in health care justice, and I’ve been involved in many ways since the 1980s up to today. When people ask my outside interests, I always say yoga. So I’m not sure what else to say here!
