Workshop: Exploring Identity & Bias (FTW-1)

Please Note

This workshop is a part of the Prison Yoga Project Foundational Training: Yoga Through the Lens of Incarceration and is not available for open enrollment. For more information, visit the Foundational Training course page.

About this Workshop

In this workshop, we will begin by completing a “Circles of Myself” activity to explore our identities and how they experience privilege and oppression through those identities. In breakout rooms, we will then have the opportunity to discuss what we’ve discovered through the activity with a small group and further explore the concept of implicit bias. In a whole group discussion, we will reflect on felt sensations during the exercise and conversations and discuss the implications of implicit bias in prisons and jails.
