This workshop is a part of the Prison Yoga Project Foundational Training: Yoga Through the Lens of Incarceration and is not available for open enrollment. For more information, visit the Foundational Training course page.
Objective: incorporate interoceptive cues and create agency when guiding an embodied yoga practice; develop a deeper understanding of trauma-informed sequencing and invitational cueing.
This workshop will review the foundations of our approach to trauma-informed yoga and discuss how more “mainstream” approaches can be adapted to be more trauma-informed. We will discuss cueing specific poses in a trauma-informed style, focusing on interoception and agency. Participants will have an opportunity to practice facilitating and giving and receiving in breakout rooms. No prior yoga teaching experience is required for this workshop. This workshop is primarily intended for yoga facilitators.
We will send a reminder email with a link to the workshop the day before the event.
