Reflection Prompt
As you engage with the recording, consider sharing:
-
What stood out to you from our opening session?
-
What are you noticing as you enter this learning space?
-
What intentions are you holding for yourself and for this community over the coming months?
There’s no right length or format—brief reflections are welcome, as are longer shares if that feels supportive.
This forum is a space for honesty, curiosity, and connection. Thank you for showing up in the ways you can, and for contributing your voice to this shared container.
With gratitude,
Jen
Lovely Jen,
hope you are doing great,
I am writing to ask if I can see some of the examples of others making final project- art, project proposal, poem
or other narrative.
or if there are in our website can I have the link?
if I work on my yoga in social media is it acceptable as proposal?
if you have Instagram or other social media can I follow you?
looking forward to hearing from you
What stood out to you from our opening session?
- During the movement practice, as Jen brought attention to the opportunity as facilitators to hold space by demonstrating with our physical bodies the various options we are cueing in order to demonstrate and normalize them with participants, I was reflecting on how there are so many opportunities of different pathways for how we are able to learn to "hold space" as facilitators--physically, emotionally, energetically. I really appreciate this example and have begun practicing incorporating it as I practice guiding-it's one of those things that as a student in class, I notice when it's lacking: the taking up time and space as a facilitator to demonstrate the various options, and not only vocally cue them-and also, the allowing of time for students to explore the options. I find that oftentimes it feels rushed, so as a facilitator I intend to create space for incorporating enough time for these explorations before moving on to the next thing.
- The slides that bring awareness to the benefits of the different components of these teachings in a side to side view of in a physical practice vs life-application and training setting- "energetic awareness" "range of motion" etc. are so interesting and helpful to reflect on as I continue having a deeper understanding of how these ideas can support our yoga practicing. To be able to reflect this way deepens my practice of self-study through my own experiences and how to support participants; I can strengthen my ability to translate the ideas into guiding and developing ways for how to explore them in a class setting through my own voice and knowing.
What are you noticing as you enter this learning space?
- As I enter this learning space I am noticing how much I've learned and been integrating from this training and practicing of these principals through this lens since beginning in Jan. I feel so grateful for the opportunity to continue learning. I am noticing again how connected I feel to everyone's stories and beautiful lights of beingness in this space. Thank you all <3
